P2 card offload procedure and log

My document title

Here is an offload procedure that I use on my sets for managing the P2 card workflow.  Although it is straightforward, it has allowed me to shoot over 2000 cards and never lose a clip.  It is designed for PC but can be modified for mac.  It is free to reuse and copy but please leave the copyright and logo on it.

This assumes that there will be redundant copies on separate harddrives.  If this is not the case you should rethink your workflow.  P2 footage should NEVER exist on only one harddrive.  That is far too risky.  But if you follow a structured procedure such as this you decrease your chances of loss of footage to nearly zero.

For additional safety, you may want your redundant copies to be at different locations at the end of each shoot day.  You keep one, give one to production and perhaps give one to the director to review dailies.  Have them at multiple locations is a time tested technique for preventing data loss.

Here they are - enjoy.  Please feel free to email with and questions, comments or suggestions about P2 workflow - seth@slmproduction.com
